2023 American Numismatic Association Board of Governors Election
I participated in the ANA’s Candidate Forum. If you have not had a chance to view it, I am including the link here: https://youtu.be/2gik8YHw8pg
I am running for one of the seven ANA Governor positions and sincerely ask all ANA members for their vote when the ballots are sent in late May or early June of this year. For those of you who do not know me, here is a little bit about me.
My numismatic passion began when I was eight years old. Within two years, I was a member of five local coin and currency clubs as well as a young numismatist (YN) ANA member. In 2013, I received the first of several ANA Summer Seminar scholarships and have had the good fortune of attending every summer seminar since then. The seminars have allowed me to build wonderful relationships with many of the top numismatists around the country as well as making friends with hundreds of collectors.
Eight years ago, I began promoting my numismatic interest on several social media platforms and now have thousands of followers worldwide. This outreach has introduced me to many serious collectors, as we trade thoughts about collecting.
In 2019, I began as a part-time show dealer. In May of that year, I opened the Numismatics with Kenny eBay store. Thanks to my loyal and new customers, I have sold over 27,000 numismatic items.
Also in 2019, the ANA announced I was selected the Young Numismatist of the Year, such a great honor. The ANA also chose me to be the first YN Volunteer District Representative in its history. Through my social media efforts, attending coin shows manning the ANA booth and including ANA membership applications with each of my eBay sales, I am doing my best to promote the ANA.
Last year, the ANA asked three other young adult collectors and myself to write articles for the column opened up by the retirement of Q. David Bowers. As it has been a goal of mine to follow in the steps of Messrs. Bowers and Ken Bressett, I was thrilled to participate.
My Christmas break is just about over and will be heading back to Seton Hall University to begin the Spring semester. NGC was kind enough to invite me back for my fourth internship over the holidays and I capped it off by visiting the FUN show in Orlando. During my four internships at NGC, I have gained a lot of numismatic knowledge while becoming friends with some outstanding people. I am looking forward to heading back down to Sarasota this summer and thank NGC for the opportunity.
I have spent the past week purchasing a great amount of new inventory for my eBay store. Added more than 500 listings over the past few days including US and world coins, exonumia, a little bit of currency and some collector bullion coins.
I have marked down all numismatic books 70% and US and world currency 15%.
You can use this coupon code for all other listings except bullion – BACKCOLLEGE8
I appreciate you taking the time to visit my store and making purchases. I do combine ship so please take a look at all of the categories you may have an interest. Ship both domestically and internationally.
Lastly, my next article in The Numismatist will appear in the February issue which should be mailed in the next couple of weeks.
As the holiday season begins, Numismatics with Kenny eBay store is rolling out our Black Friday sale which begins today and runs through December 4, 2022. All numismatic books are 50% off and a significant number of listings are up to 15% off.
I have added and will continue to add hundreds of Masonic Tokens and So-called dollar listings as well as many new US and world coins, medals, tokens, bullion and currency listings.
Now is a great time to add to your collection or to purchase gifts for friends and family members who collect. Check out my tokens and medal’s categories to find interesting items to gift to young collectors who are beginning to show an interest in collecting. World coins and exonumia collecting began my passion for the hobby when I was younger. There are so many subjects exonumia and world coins cover that you are likely to find items that will appeal to everyone. I personally enjoy the history behind US and world coins.
12% of my buyers are international. Be sure to purchase early so your items arrive by the holidays. I use eBay Global shipping for international buyers.
All purchases are normally shipped to my customers within 24 hours. The items are well packaged, so your items arrive safely.
I recently created a bargain category to make collecting affordable for everyone. In the coming weeks, hundreds of more items will be added to the bargain category. No matter what your collecting budget may be, I am sure you will find items of interest.
I have added several hundred US and World Coin listings over the past week and will be listing another 100 today. Although I am not having a sale on coins, I will consider all fair offers so take a look. Here is a link to the main store page. While you are there, please follow my store so you will be one of the first alerted to new additions.
As I noted in my last post, I purchased more than 3000 transit tokens. It takes a lot of time to list each one and hope to have all the listings completed in the next few weeks. They are selling quickly and I believe there are more than seven hundred now up and unsold. If you collect tokens, please take a look. The direct link to the token’s section is:
As we head into the holiday season, I am offering 40% off on all 400+ numismatic books/literature listings on my eBay store. Whether the books are a gift for your favorite numismatist or yourself, I know they will be enjoyed!
While you are visiting my store, please take a look at the thousands of coin, bullion, and exonumia listings.
I just purchased a 3000 plus token collection and will be creating listings over the next several weeks so if you are a tokens collector, I invite you to take a look. In a future blog post, I will describe the collection in detail and will include photos.
With school being closed and a lot less homework, I have been able to add many new listings over the past several days. Still have hundreds more to put up but I invite everyone to visit my store at anytime. You will find US and World Coins, Currency, Books, Tokens, Medals, Errors, and more.

NumisNews – New York Bank Hoard Graded by NGC – 7/19/2018 – Numismatics with Kenny
Hello everybody and welcome back to Numismatics with Kenny. Here’s my second NumisNews video. For those who don’t know what NumisNews is, it’s a new format that I recently introduced. I pick an interesting subject that’s in a major numismatic publication and then make a video discussing and highlighting the key points.
Today’s NumisNews focuses on the New York Bank Hoard that was graded by NGC. NGC, or the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation, has just finished grading and certifying a 16,000 Morgan Silver Dollar hoard that was found in sealed US Treasury bags. Left untouched for almost 50 years, the large hoard avoided the normal bag marks. 118 of the Morgans graded MS-67!
16 canvas bags were found in a New York bank vault, each containing exactly 1,000 Morgan Dollars. Here is a breakdown of how many bags of each date and mintmark combination were found. 1878-S (one bag), the 1880-S (two bags), the 1881-S (one bag), the 1883-O (one bag), the 1884-O (one bag), the 1885 (one bag), the 1885-O (two bags), the 1886 (one bag), the 1887 (four bags), the 1888 (one bag) and the 1889 (one bag). From 1964, when the bags were left at the bank by the US Treasury, the bags were passed down from owner to owner of the bank until the current owner decided to seek assistance about the coins.
Jeff Garrett, President of Mid-American Rare Coin Galleries and former President of the American Numismatic Association (ANA), was called in to be the expert and was amazed to see such beautiful Morgans. He stated in an article for the NGC Weekly Market Report that “with each bag being opened, our small group was able to witness the reveal of a numismatic time capsule. The overall quality of the coins is amazing.” NGC graded each with a special label, noting each coin is from the New York Bank Hoard. At the time of this video production, NGC has not identified the name of the bank. Jeff Garrett had more to say on this exciting hoard. “The New York Bank hoard of U.S. Treasury silver dollars was one of the most exciting chapters of my numismatic career.
Now that the hoard has been certified and pedigreed by NGC—and protected by NGC’s secure holder—the coins can be enjoyed by countless other collectors.” These coins will be available for the public to purchase from what NGC calls “major retailers” very soon. I credit NGC’s official website and coinnews.net for the information used in this video.
