Until recently, I was considered a Young Numismatist (you become an adult in the numismatic world when you reach 18). My love for collecting coins began more than 10 years ago. Like many numismatists, numismatics has become a passion for me. It does not matter whether its purchasing coins, reading about coins, or discussing the hobby with other collectors, I enjoy it all and hope more young people become young numismatists.

I am a Life Member of the American Numismatic Association (ANA) and a member of 5 local coin and currency clubs as well as more than fifteen national and international numismatic clubs and societies. The hobby has given me the opportunity to make a great deal of new friends and I look forward to adding new friends from around the country and the world.

In 2019, the ANA named me the Young Numismatist of the Year. I am truly grateful to the ANA not only for the honor but how they are spending a great deal of time and effort promoting the hobby, especially to kids. If you are not a member of the ANA and would like to join, send me an email and I will email you a membership form along with the club benefits: My email address

This blog will include recent articles and videos on coins, anything numismatic readers would like to share, and videos I have created on coins and collecting.  Additionally, I have made a number of world coins videos and collection videos of both silver and gold coins.  I also made unboxing videos of coins I purchase online or my father brings me from his many business trips. Look for my educational videos created with the help of local seasoned numismatists and videos I create while attending the ANA summer seminars. You are allowed to laugh at my cracking voice during my earlier videos made as a young teenager.

Also, be sure to check out the daily RSS feeds (on the right side column of this blog or at the bottom of the page when viewing on some mobile devices) from Coin World, Numismatic News, and the US Mint and many other coin related sites. You are welcome to bookmark this blog as the RSS feed articles change on a daily basis. These links are being provided as a convenience and for informational purposes only; they do not constitute an endorsement or an approval and are owned by the site or individual authors.

Each day, I tweet or retweet numismatic topics or articles. Some of these appear on this blog in the right hand column.

15 to 40% Off Sale Plus 500+ Numismatic Listings Will Be Added This Week

My freshman year at Seton Hall will come to an end this week. It has been a great experience and I am looking forward to next year as things open up with Covid hopefully being behind us by then and it becomes a more normal college experience.

I have placed about 1/3 of the 1800 eBay numismatic listings on sale. You will find sale items from 15 to 40% off including all of the numismatic literature listings. You are welcome to make fair offers on all of the other listings.

Later this week, I will be purchasing between 500 and 600 coins from my usual suppliers plus from an estate of a local collector who sadly passed a couple of months ago. He collected quality coins and I will be spending a couple of days with a dealer viewing the coins and making purchases.

I will begin listing these coins, currency, and bullion this Wednesday and should have all of them up by next Sunday (May 23, 2021). In the meantime, I invite you to visit my store to view the present listing and to take advantage of the sale. When you click on the below link, you will see a link to add me to your favorite sellers (save this seller). Please add me so you will receive a notice once I begin adding the new listings so you will be part of the early group viewing the coins.

Thank you to the many past purchasers. I really appreciate it.

My Numismatic eBay Store Update – Many New Additions 2500+ Listings

Yesterday, I spent several enjoyable hours with a good friend and long-time knowledgeable collector. He has built a large and impressive collection. Each time I visit, he gives me an opportunity to go through a part of his collection and pick out several hundred coins to purchase. As he knows these are coins will mostly be for my eBay store (I do keep some for my collection), his prices are very reasonable and allow for me to price them fairly and still make a small profit.

I am about 40 % of the way through listing these newly purchased coins on my store. They should all be up by tomorrow (Monday night). If you have not been to my eBay store or if it has been a while, please take a look.

Many of these newly listed coins will be purchased very quickly as I did my best in picking out sought after coins.

The main eBay store url link is:

https://www.ebay.com/str/numismaticswithkenny

I do combine ship and package the coins with the best packing materials. While visiting my store, be sure to click on the save this seller button so you will be made aware of when I add new listings.

You will find 500+ numismatic book listings all at 50% off for the Holidays. It is a very eclectic group of titles so I invite everyone to view them no matter what you collect. Here is a link to my book category:

https://www.ebay.com/str/numismaticswithkenny/Numismatic-Books-Literature/_i.html?_storecat=29010782014

For my token collectors, I am about 1/3 of the way through listing the 3100-transit token collection I purchased a couple of weeks ago. The collection has tokens from every state. As I am just getting into collecting tokens, I did not realize how many token collectors are out there and how popular these transit tokens are. Sales have been very brisk. It is my goal to have the rest of the collection up within the next three weeks. I am listing the tokens by state (alphabetically) so if you do not see the state you are looking for, I will get them up as soon as I can.

Here is the token category link:

https://www.ebay.com/str/numismaticswithkenny/Tokens/_i.html?_storecat=33643586014

There are now over 2500 world/US coin, books, bullion, and exonumia listings. I hope you consider shopping at my eBay store for a holiday gift for your favorite collector or better yet, for yourself!

If you live outside the United States, I do ship internationally through eBay’s Global Shipping program.

Happy Holidays!!!

Alto – The Alternative IRA – Investing in Real Estate – Start-Ups, Cryptocurrnecy and more.

This post is not about numismatics although some numismatists like to invest in non-traditional assets and if possible, invest in them through their IRAs.    Thanks to my affiliate marketing ventures and my numismatic eBay store, I put away as much as I can into my regular and retirement savings.

My parents have taught me to have a diversified portfolio so my investments are spread out between stocks, bonds, real estate, precious metals, collector coins, and alternative investments such as start up companies.

One of the companies I invested in is Alto IRA and since investing, I have begun using their service for investing in start-ups, real estate, and other alternative investments that you can now include in your IRA. Most recently I opened up a Cripto IRA. As I am new to the criptocurrencies, I will only be putting a small percentage of my money in that account until I learn more.   If you are looking for additional ways to invest your money, I invite you to look at Alto. This link will take you to their site and provide you with a $75 fee credit and an opportunity to watch their video and view the FAQs.

You can open up a Traditional, ROTH, or a SEP IRA. Click here to learn more

1000+ US & World Numismatic Books for Sale

I recently purchased a collection of more than 1200 United States and World numismatic books covering a wide range of numismatic topics. Most books are in English but there are a number of books written in other languages.

I am in the process of listing the books on my eBay store. I anticipate it will take me two to three weeks to get all of the books listed. Here is a link that will take you directly to the numismatic book section of my numismatic eBay store:

https://www.ebay.com/str/numismaticswithkenny/Numismatic-Books-Literature/_i.html?_storecat=29010782014

I will write another post when I have finished adding all the listings but welcome you to view the listings I have up already. If you do not want to wait and desire a particular title, email me at numismatistkenny@gmail.com. I will let you know if I have that particular title(s) and what the cost will be.

All international sales will go through eBay’s International Shipping Program. eBay is responsible for determining fees/custom charges. I have no control over those costs.

United States buyers will find the shipping cost noted in the eBay listing. I do combine ship to keep shipping costs as low as possible. Additionally, many of the books have collector value in addition to their great information. I am pricing the books below what others are selling them for as the books were sold to me at a reasonable cost.

Thank you for reading and visiting my eBay store. After you have looked through the numismatic book listings, I invite you to view the more than 1500 coins and sets I have for sale.

Mexican Voices in Metal and Paper

This course examines the general perspective of coins, some medals, and paper money that compose Mexican Numismatics, covering the period from 1492 to 1925. The highlights of this topic are the coinage of  Charles and Johanna (1536 – 1571), cobs (1572 – 1733), and klippes (1733 – 1734), on the oddly shaped coinage. We will glance at the Pillar series (1732 – 1771), busts (1772 – 1810), and War of Independence (1810 – 1822) reviewing the issues made by the Emergency Mints outside of Mexico City. Once Mexico gained its independence from Spain we will touch on Iturbide’s coinage and some of the 14 Republican Mints (1822 – 1905). During the French Invasion, coins on behalf of Maximilian were made as the Emperor of Mexico (1863 – 1867), followed by the Republican issues (1867 – 1905). The establishment of the banking system appeared in 1864 and with that the first issues of paper money walked on the streets of Mexico City, extending to the rest of the Republic (1864 – 1915). In 1905 a Monetary Reform occurred and the coin design changed some. By 1913 the first issues of the Mexican Revolución appeared in coins and paper money, ending in 1917 altogether. We will stop this meteoric review with the establishment of the Banco de México, the equivalent of the Federal Reserve, in 1925. Instructor: Ricardo de Leon Tallavas, author and Mexican coinage expert When: July 9, 2020 | 1:00-3:00 PM MDT
